Rainstorm

It began with a warm wind whipping

up the plants and trees,

driving them over and about,

dancing and snapping.

The clouds, growing darker,

mashed into a solid sheet of grey

before melting, and the first

fat drops of rain fell.

As the earth received them,

they pooled and bounced

in concentric circles and then,

the rain drops grew finer.
